  • First Steps to Dance with Miss Jenny (Ages 2+) Mondays 4:30-5:15pm or Fridays 10:30-11:15am

    “First Steps to Dance” is a perfect introduction to small group learning for toddlers and preschoolers. In this class, we get lots of practice with following directions, social skills, and emotional regulation, as we explore movement, creativity, rhythm, and expression in a safe and playful environment. Grown-ups are welcome to participate in this class with their children.

  • Creative Movement with Miss Jenny (Ages 3+) Fridays 3:00-3:45pm

    Creative Movement is designed for preschool and kindergarten-aged children who are ready for more independence and structure. In this class, we get lots of practice with following directions, social skills, and emotional regulation, as we explore movement, creativity, rhythm, and expression in a safe and playful environment. This is a drop-off class—check out “First Steps to Dance” if you’re looking for a parent-participation class.

  • Ballet 1 with Miss Molly (Ages 5+) Tuesdays 2:30-3:15pm

    Ballet is a very formal, disciplined and classic dance form with specific terminology, technique and choreography. Ballet originated in 16th and 17th century French courts, and was further developed in England, Italy, and Russia as a concert dance form. Ballet is taught in a systematic way with the understanding of the basic principles and the quality execution of such. Ballet is typically performed to classical music; however it has developed through time to include a more contemporary style.

  • Ballet 2 with Miss Molly (8+)Tuesdays 3:30-4:15pm

    Ballet is a very formal, disciplined and classic dance form with specific terminology, technique and choreography.     Ballet 3 Prerequisites: 

    1. Must be able to correctly demonstrate all six positions with arms and legs (Parallel, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth)

    2. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Demi-Plié and Grand-Plié

    3. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Single, Double, or Triple Pirouette (must be working towards Fouettés)

    4.  Must be able to correctly demonstrate an Arabesque and Penché

    5. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Sauté, Changement, Assemblé, Sissonne, and Pas de Chat (Petit Allegro)

    6. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Pas de Bourée

    7. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Balancé

    8. Must be able to hold a 1 minute plank with correct form

    9. Must be able to demonstrate strong Battement kicks (Derrière, Devant, À La Seconde)

  • Pointe with Miss Molly (invitation only) Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm

    Pointe classes are offered to ballet students who are working towards dancing en pointe (on pointe shoes) or students who are currently en pointe. This class will focus on further developing and strengthening the muscles, alignment and technique necessary to safely and correctly dance en pointe. Pre-Pointe students must also be enrolled in Ballet 3.

  • Contemporary 1 with Miss Molly (Ages 8+) Wednesdays 3:30-4:15pm

    Contemporary dance involves a varied choice of music and is all about self-expression, storytelling, and freedom. It uses movement inspired by multiple styles, including ballet and jazz dance. The dancers learn how to create “lines” and to dance with breadth, freedom of movement, and emotion. It is recommended that Contemporary students also participate in Ballet 3.

  • Contemporary 2 with Miss Molly (see prerequisites below) Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm

    Contemporary dance involves a varied choice of music and is all about self-expression, storytelling, and freedom. It uses movement inspired by multiple styles, including ballet and jazz dance. The dancers learn how to create “lines” and to dance with breadth, freedom of movement, and emotion. It is recommended that Contemporary students also participate in Ballet 3.

    Contemporary 2 Prerequisites:

    1. Must also be enrolled in Ballet or Jazz

    2. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Shoulder Roll

    3. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Jazz Turn and a Single, Double, or Triple Pirouette (must be working towards Fouettés)

    4. Must be able to hold a 1 minute plank with correct form

    5. Must be able to demonstrate strong Battement kicks (Derrière, Devant, À La Seconde)

    6. Must be able to correctly demonstrate a Center Jump, Tilt Jump, and Grand Jeté or Saut de Chat

    7. Should be familiar with the Principles of Contemporary Dance: 1. Use of breath and body awareness 2. Opposition 3. Contraction and release 4. Spiral 5. Fall and recovery 6. Suspension and momentum 7. Use of parallel and turnout 8. Versatility and eclecticism 9. Use of space 10. Challenging tradition 11. Collaboration and artistic exploration

  • Acro 1 with Miss Maddy (Ages 5+) Saturdays 11:30-12:15pm

    This beginner level acrobatics/gymnastics class will focus on everything from forward rolls, cartwheels, bridges, and more. Students will learn skills that will help them improve their flexibility, agility, and strength.

  • Acro 2 with Miss Kasey (see prerequisites below) Fridays 5:00-5:45pm

    This intermediate level acrobatics/gymnastics class will focus on everything from cartwheels and walkovers, to back handsprings and tucks (depending on ability level). Students will learn skills that will help them improve their flexibility, agility, and strength.

    Acro 2 Prerequisites: 

    1. Cartwheel

    2. Forward roll (somersault)

    3. Strong bridge (can push up without head touch the ground 

    4. Handstand (they don't need to hold it but at least be able to kick up where feet touch)

    5. Backbend bend from standing on own or with light spot

  • Jazz 1 with Miss Molly (Ages 5+) Thursdays 2:30-3:15pm

    Jazz dance is a diverse and energetic dance style in which creativity and expressiveness is encouraged. Jazz is a rhythmic, stylized dance form with roots in America in the early 1900’s. Jazz technique borrows from classical ballet and modern dance, blending other varied techniques such as folk dance, African traditional dance, and musical styles of past and present. It is eclectic and dynamic and can be performed to any type of music.

  • Jazz 2 with Miss Molly (8+) Thursdays 3:30-4:15pm

    Jazz dance is a diverse and energetic dance style in which creativity and expressiveness is encouraged. Jazz is a rhythmic, stylized dance form with roots in America in the early 1900’s. Jazz technique borrows from classical ballet and modern dance, blending other varied techniques such as folk dance, African traditional dance, and musical styles of past and present. It is eclectic and dynamic and can be performed to any type of music.

  • Hip Hop 1 with Miss Molly (Ages 7+) Wednesdays 2:30-3:15pm

    Hip Hop dance represents a cultural movement from the city streets to the dance studios. It is an energetic dance style that originated with the hip hop music scene back to the 70’s. Hip Hop continues to evolve and is known for its gravity-defying moves, freestyle shapes, and the infamous battles between dancers around the world.

  • Hip Hop 2 with Miss Molly (10+) Fridays 4:00-4:45pm

    For more than 100 years, tap dance has delighted people of all ages. Tap dance is energetic, upbeat, and taught to a wide range of music. Tap students will focus on developing coordination, sense of timing, body awareness, rhythm, and basic tap dancing vocabulary. Students will broaden their musical horizons, while having fun!

  • Tap 2 with Miss Molly (ages 8+) Mondays 3:30-4:15pm

    For more than 100 years, tap dance has delighted people of all ages. Tap dance is energetic, upbeat, and taught to a wide range of music.   • Adult Tap with Molly (Ages 18+) Saturdays 12:30-1:30pm

  • Dance Lab with Molly

    Welcome to Dance Lab! This is a special FREE offering for S&T students who are enrolled in Ballet 2, Ballet 3, Jazz 2, or Contemporary. Some of our students have shown an interest in improving their dance technique and making faster progress. In Dance Lab, students will receive personalized training to help them improve their flexibility, strength, turns, leaps, dance knowledge, and more. These weekly sessions will allow dancers to focus more on technique and work towards their personal goals. We are currently providing this opportunity free of charge to those dancers who are motivated and committed to taking their dance skills and confidence to the next level!

  • Dance Around the World (Ages 7+)

    (free community class--must audition to join) A class for kids who love to perform! We will explore dance styles and music from many different times, places, and genres, with a focus on learning fun routines and improving performance skills.
