The Sage & Tansy Children’s Dance Program was founded in 2020, at a time when many people were seeking more connection, normalcy, and creative outlets. Since the beginning, our goal has been to provide a structured and professional program, while also keeping things simple, lighthearted, inclusive, and fun. We emphasize proper dance technique in a way that allows for each dancer's personality to shine through. We want our students to feel excited to come to class, and to walk away with more confidence, knowledge, friendships, and positive memories. We love working with older dancers who haven’t had much dance training, meeting them right where they are at. Everyone is welcome here. We can’t wait to dance with you!

About Our Program

Meet our dance teachers

Molly is the director and lead instructor for the Sage & Tansy Children’s Dance Program. She was born with a love for dance and performing. She began her dance training as a preschooler at Tricks Gym in Folsom. She then had the opportunity to learn from Sue Brumet as part of the “Kids on Stage” Performing Arts Group in Amador County. She received training in ballet and jazz dance at The Studio Performing Technique Dance School in Sutter Creek under the direction of Cara Agustin. Molly participated in sideline and competitive cheerleading for many years, and also coached youth cheerleading. She has instructed Zumba dance fitness since 2019, and is also a certified Zumba Toning, Zumba Kids, and Buti Yoga instructor. Molly truly loves to share the joy of dance and movement with people of all ages. Outside of the studio, Molly is the owner of Molly Jane Photography, a doTERRA consultant, dog and cat mom, Disney fan, and natural living advocate.

Maddy Carges

Maddy is our Acro & Tricks teacher. Maddy has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She became an assistant dance teacher when she was 11 years old, and by 16, she was teaching classes all by herself! She has trained in many different styles of dance, including tap, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet, modern, and acrobatics, with jumps and tricks being her favorite challenge. Maddy is passionate about sharing her love for dance and watching young dancers grow in skill and enthusiasm. She likes to make her classes fun and inspiring spaces where students feel encouraged to try new things and push their limits. We’re excited to have Maddy on our team!

Jenny is the owner of Sage & Tansy Wellness Studio and assists with administration and instruction for the S&T Children’s Dance Program. Jenny was a shy, quiet and insecure child who found confidence, creativity and community with dance and movement arts later in life. She was a cheerleader in high school and college, and enjoyed coaching sideline and competitive cheerleading for many years. She discovered belly dance as an adult and trained in American Tribal Style and Fusion with Carolena Nericcio and Tracy Carlton, and performed for years with Kundalini Belly Dance Tribe. Jenny believes that performing arts can greatly enrich our human experience, and she loves doing everything she can to support the dance program at Sage & Tansy. Jenny also teaches yoga, mobility, hula hoop, Zumba, and wellness classes at the studio. Outside of the studio, she works as a pediatric speech pathologist and dyslexia tutor.
